A large retailer was standing up a new core banking platform, and the engagement was to design the deployment process for it — not just a one-off go-live, but a repeatable release process with change approval gates built in.

Packaging for handover

The key deliverable wasn't just getting the platform live once — it was packaging the platform together with the organisation's specific configuration so that another team could take the package and deploy it themselves, following documentation, without needing us in the room. That meant the platform and its configuration had to be bundled as a self-contained, reproducible unit, and the accompanying documentation had to be precise enough that someone unfamiliar with the build could follow it step by step and get a correct, working environment out the other end.

Outcome

The result was a deployment process with manual approval gates suited to a core banking context, and a handover package — platform plus configuration plus documentation — that let a separate team own ongoing deployments independently.
